Cupuaçu is the fruit of the cupuaçuzeiro, a common tree in the Brazilian Amazon, belonging to the same family and genus as cocoa. Typically, it reaches heights ranging between 6 - 10 meters. In addition to the name “cupuaçu”, the fruit is also known as pupu, white cacao or copoasú. Regardless of the name used, it is a resistant fruit with a brown skin and measuring 15 to 25 centimeters.
